Speaking Your Truth and Standing in Your Power: A Series for Women (In-Person, Portland, OR)

Is this you?

This series is for you if you identify as a woman and want to be more fully grounded in your truth and speak from it with strength and confidence.

When interacting with others you find it easier to feel and express compassion toward them than with yourself. You can name other's needs before identifying your own. You long for self connection and clarity but it's difficult to know what you really need, especially when social conditioning urges you to maintain an external focus.

Maybe core limiting beliefs are holding you back from moving toward your authenticity and honest expression.

Or, perhaps, you want to speak up more often and be able to communicate what’s true for you with more ease. You would like a better understanding of how to make requests, engage in healthy relationship repair, and set clear boundaries.

This is for you if you want to feel more confidence in expressing yourself from a place of greater self-awareness, self-responsibility, and strength.

What's it all about?

In this series you will learn the supporting principles of MCD such as “power with” life-serving intention, and attunement to self and others. You will have an opportunity to dive deeper into your healing journey with a caring community.

You will learn how to identify your practice edge. A practice edge refers to a perspective and skill that you would like to access in a particular context, but are not fully able to yet. For example, maintaining self-connection while talking to your step-father or maintaining self-compassion when shame comes up for you, might be practice edges.

Learning and practice modalities will include:  role plays, giving and receiving empathy, practicing self-empathy aloud, physicalizing relationship dynamics, group movement exercises that promote synergy, healing interventions, mindfulness, meditation, and appreciation.

What to expect?

In this six week series, you will engage in conceptual learning, group discussion, experiential learning, and skills development.  Practice exercises will be done individually, in pairs, and in small groups. You will use examples from your own life in exercises.

Group size typically ranges between 12 and 20 participants. Some will be new to Wise Heart and others will have taken previous courses with Wise Heart.
