🧭Is this you?
You want to be clear and aligned at work.
You want your conversations to be direct, productive, and easier to follow.
But in reality:
You are misunderstood or only partially understood
Conversations feel indirect or harder than they need to be
You leave meetings unsure if everyone is actually on the same page
In the moment, it’s not always clear what to say—or how to say it
You value clarity, transparency, effective communication and collaboration, but under pressure, those can be hard to access.
🌱 A More Practical Way to Communicate
Working Well Together is a 4-session, interactive series that helps you turn those values into real, usable skills.
Instead of defaulting to habitual patterns or hoping conversations go well, you’ll learn how to:
Say what you mean in a way others can actually hear
Listen for what matters—not just what’s said
Recognize your reactions and manage intense emotions (before they take over)
Stay grounded and clear, even in challenging moments
This isn’t about learning more concepts.
It’s about knowing what to do in the moment.
🧩 What You’ll Practice
You’ll build practical skills to:
Move from assumptions to curiosity and clear observations
Understand motivations behind your behavior and reactions
Express yourself without creating confusion
Self regulate in challenging moments
Listen with empathy while staying connected to your own perspective
Make clear, doable requests that meet the needs present
🌟 What Changes
As these skills begin to integrate, you may notice:
Conversations feel more clear and direct
You spend less time defending, clarifying, reworking, or revisiting decisions
Greater confidence in what you feel, value and want to say
Less tension and escalation in conversations
Increased ability to make requests based on your values
A stronger sense of alignment with yourself and colleagues
👥 Who It’s For
Individuals who want clearer, more effective communication in the workplace
Individuals who value emotional intelligence—but want it to be practical
Anyone navigating real, everyday conversations that sometimes get stuck
No prior experience needed.

Students will be signing in to the workshop simultaneously in real time from their own locations, using Zoom. For visibility, it’s important to have a light in front of you, not behind you. We will make use of breakout rooms for dyad and small group sharing and practice. Facilitators will offer more individual support by visiting these small breakout rooms.
You will be able to review recordings of the series for another eight weeks after it ends. Students won't be shown on the recording, but can be heard. You can participate in discussions via chat if you don’t want your voice recorded. This course may be sold later as a pre-recorded course.

Adriana Azcarate-Ferbel
I am a mother, a partner and a business owner. Mindful Compassionate Dialogue has provided me with the skills to be my best in all these roles.
I was born in Mexico and studied to become a Naturopathic Doctor in Portland, Oregon.
Today, I co-own and operate a company with 15 employees, making organic corn tortillas. We owe our success in large part to the values we hold in our workplace. MCD has been the glue that bonds us, solves problems, and maintains individual safety.
I look forward to getting to know you!
Liesl Mathias
My name is Liesl Mathias and I live in Los Angeles. I am a mother of 2 young adults and a practicing pediatric hematologist.
Having had laser focus on achieving what I wanted to in life, and, still feeling that something was lacking, I came across the language of Mindful Compassionate Dialogue (MCD) in 2021. This has been and continues to be transformational for me.
The practical tools I’ve learned from Elia and the MCD practices detailed in this framework have provided me a roadmap in integrating mindfulness and non-violent communication, with a model for empathic listening and communicating, healing my own reactive patterns and developing connected, caring relationships in my personal life, community and at work.
Will Hebert
I am honored to have this opportunity to hold space for you and support you in your journey through learning workplace communication skills, and pointing you to any other resources you might need.
I offer deep listening from the heart in a space of acceptance. I help bring attention to what matters most.
Tiffany Purn
I was introduced to MCD in 2012 and have studied it ever since, seeing its impact in myself, my closest relationships, and in professional settings. I’ve spent over 20 years in the field of learning and development and currently live in Portland, Oregon, where I work both in the energy efficiency sector and as an independent consultant.
What inspires me about Mindful Compassionate Dialogue is how it helps bridge differences, creates more clarity, mutual understanding, and authentic choice in how I relate. I’ve seen conversations transform, collaboration and connection strengthen, and new pathways arise.
Much of what I teach comes from what I’ve most needed to learn myself. Practicing MCD, especially in professional settings, has meaningfully shaped how I approach life and work.
Through my offerings, including co-teaching Working Well Together, I aim to create spaces that expand our sense of what’s possible. Where communication becomes not just a tool for completing tasks but a pathway to more meaningful and effective relationships that ripple into our communities and lives.
